23 artistes de la exposition Surréalisme Now qui représentent et promeuvent à Paris le plus grand spectacle surréaliste au monde du XXIe siècle organisé au Portugal depuis 2010.
Du 24 au 26 mai, une édition de l'exposition internationale Surrealism Now sera disponible au public parisien, intégrant cette vingtaine d'artistes internationaux appartenant au projet Surrealism Now au Portugal. Cette initiative qui se tiendra à Art Shopping du Carrousel du Louvre a pour objectif de promouvoir et de faire connaître le projet qui a lieu au Portugal et qui est l'artiste de Coimbra, Santiago Ribeiro, son createur et qui a débuté en 2010 organisé par la Fondation Bissaya Barreto. Deux fois par an, le salon Art Shopping du Carrousel du Louvre propose une sélection d'œuvres à voir et à acheter. Plus de 450 artistes et galeries présentent leurs œuvres d'art contemporain. Cette fois-ci, avec la presence de la International Surréalisme Now qui compte la participation de une vingtaine d'artistes de 13 nationalités. Among the participating artists, Isabel Meyrelles stands out for her relevancy in the world history of surrealism. She was born in Matosinhos in 1929, studied sculpture with Masters Américo Gomes and António Duarte. Settled in Paris in 1950, where she continued her studies at the Université René Descartes – Paris V-Sorbonne and l’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. In 1952 she studied sculpture with Master Zadkine at the “Grande-Chaumière”. She Integrates the surrealist movement, which she considers immortal and closely follows the French surrealism (whose founder was André Breton, with whom she coexisted) and also the work done by her friends, such as Triston Tzara. She also gives special attention to the Portuguese surrealist movement, being friends with António Pedro, O’Neill, Cesariny, Cruzeiro Seixas, among others, and also with Eugénio de Andrade and Natália Correia. Poetry is also an integral part of her life. Isabel Meyrelles was awarded Commander of the Order of Saint James of the Sword, by the President of the Portuguese Republic. Daniel Hanequand, French surrealist recently deceased, is another important name in the field of international surrealism, whose unique artworks are a great contribution for the exhibition’s singular importance. Russian world-renowned artists such as Yuri Tsevtaev, Sergey Tyukanov and Oleg Korolev constitute a link with events in the Russian Federation. INTERNATIONAL SURREALISM NOW - LISBON 2013 Art Gallery CA April 10th to May 6th From April 10th to May 6th the Art Gallery CA will host Santiago Ribeiro’s "Surrealism Now”. The project will be exhibiting select works of surrealists from twenty-seven countries in downtown Lisbon, Portugal. The opening is scheduled for 17.30 on April 10, 2013 Surrealism Now International Surrealism Now is a creation of the Portuguese surrealist painter: Santiago Ribeiro. Ribeiro is an artist devoted to the promotion of 21st century international surrealism. His project reunites both Portuguese and global artists through a series of exhibits. ‘International Surrealism Now’ began in 2010 in Coimbra, where Ribeiro prepared a major exhibition funded through the Bissaya Barreto Foundation. Due to the popularity and success of the first event the project has now travelled from Portugal to Paris where Ribeiro collaborated with the Art Gallery Portugal Present (GAPP) and artist Liba W Stambollion and was once again supported by the Bissaya Barreto Foundation. A Madrid collaboration was made with Yamal Din of the Fiarte and also a Moscow some artists have presence in collaboration with art dealer Andrei Nekrasov. Ribeiro has also organized various shows in Portugal including a stellar show for the 50th anniversary of the Monografico museum in Conimbriga.
